BJD: 5-time Ex-mla Majhi Quits Bjd Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Senior BJD leader Balabhadra Majhi, a former minister and a five-time former MLA, quit the regional party on Monday.
“I do hereby relinquish the primary membership of the BJD. Thanks a lot for allowing me to work for a long period along with you since the formation of the party in 1997,” Majhi wrote to chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik in his resignation.
Majhi was elected from Narla four times (1990, 1995, 2000 and 2004) and from Lanjigarh in 2014.He served as a minister in Naveen Patnaik’s first two terms. In 2009, he had contested from Lanjigarh on a BJD ticket but lost. In 2014, he re-contested and won. Majhi is yet to make his next political move public.TNN
