Ludhiana: Late arrival of trains has become routine here as extreme cold and dense fog continue to cause travel chaos.
The situation has been the same for last two weeks due to fog resulting in low visibility. At least 12 trains were again behind schedule on Sunday and 12 others reached the Ludhiana railway station late.
The trains which were delayed include Malwa Express, Hazur Sahib Nanded Humsafar Express, Durgiana Express, Amritsar Express, Ludhiana – Churi Express Special, Kaithar to Amritsar Amrapali Express, Nagpur – Amritsar Express, Vivek Express, Nanded – Amritsar Sachkhand Express, Visakhapatnam to Amritsar SF Express, Golden Temple, Jammu Tavi to Ajmer Express.A railways official said the railway service will remain affected during the winter season.
He said that the passengers should check train status on National Train Enquiry System app before coming to the station.
As per officials, Malwa Express was late by four hours, Hazur Sahib Nanded Humsafar Express was five hours behind schedule, Durgiana Express was delayed by five hours, Amritsar Express was late by four hours, Ludhiana – Churi Express Special was delayed by two hours, Kaithar to Amritsar Amrapali Express was 10 hours behind schedule, Vivek Express was late by one hour, Nanded – Amritsar Sachkhand Express was delayed by two hours, Visakhapatnam to Amritsar SF Express was 2 hours behind schedule, Golden Temple was late by 2 hours and Jammu Tavi to Ajmer Express was delayed by 4 hours.
