Jaipur: Health minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar on Monday held a meeting with the department’s senior officials at the health directorate and reviewed health schemes and programs in the state. Khinvsar directed the officials to strengthen health care facilities in rural areas as well. He sought reports on seasonal diseases including Covid-19 and its management.
In the very first meeting, he approved the proposal to increase 2,713 posts of contractual nurses, female health workers and community health officers (CHOs) advertised in 2022 and 2023 under the National Health Mission.Now the proposal for recruitment to a total of 9,890 posts will be sent to the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board.
Additional chief secretary (health) Shubhra Singh informed health minister that in 2023, as many as 750 posts were added to 1,588 advertised posts of contractual nurses taking it to 2,338 posts. In 2,058 posts of contractual female health workers, 1,000 posts will be added to take it to 3,058 posts. Besides, out of 3,531 advertised posts of CHO, 963 posts will be added taking the total to 4,494 posts. Thus, instead of 7,177 posts advertised earlier, proposals will now be sent to Rajasthan Staff Selection Board for recruitment to 9,890 posts. Soon the revised release will be issued by Rajasthan Staff Selection Board.
In the meeting that lasted for about six hours, Khinvsar sought details from the officials regarding the plans, programs, buildings under construction and other projects of the department. He discussed with the officials about National Health Mission, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Chief Minister Free Medicine and free diagnostic tests scheme, Centre’s health schemes, 108 and 104 Ambulance Services, Ayushman Bharat Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, HIV AIDS, Food Safety and Drug Control.
Besides, issues related to the staff including doctors and other recruitment were also discussed. He said that the health department is related to public service and public sentiments. “It is the responsibility of all of us to ensure that every citizen of the state has access to the best health services. Our state should be a leader in the field of health. With this thinking, all the officers and department staff should work with dedication and sensitivity,” he said. He laid stress on strengthening health services in rural areas.
Singh said that under the Chief Minister’s Free Medicine Scheme, there should be easy supply of medicines to the medical institutions. There is no shortage of medicines anywhere. Besides, the quality of medicines should also be taken care of and samples of food items should be taken regularly.
